We're gonna be staying in a tent cabin "like those Civil War tents" as
described by the booking agent.
Update 126pm : Spark plugs needs to be changed (80 bucks), 3 tires need to be replaced (alot), and brakes are galmost gone. Total without tire change is 500 something. DANG. Sucks ass. I dont have that much money to go around. I just opted for an engine oil change for now. Would be looking around for used tires and figure out if I can change spark plugs myself.
Update 927pm: Alex got the Garmin Nuvi 1350T GPS unit and the power inverter from Wal-Mart. We're gonna use it for the trip and return it (I know thank you America). The power inverter is for charging phones and other stuff as we're gonna be on the road alot. Also booked a stay in Adelaide Hostel in downtown San Francisco. I've been there this past summer and its really fun place with people from all around the world, and they have this bar hopping event with 2.75 a pint beers within walking distance. Me and Alex bounced off ideas for things to bring and possible locations to visit. We are in a fix right now for Friday because we dont have a place to stay in Sacramento. We're looking and asking around for places to bunk in or near the Bay Area. Gonna be calling friends and family that have not talked in a longgg time.
I am stuffing the ipod for road trip music. Ideas welcome. The theme
band for this trip is Third Eye Blind.

I just remembered this one awesome classic, probally the only song from R.E.M (Loosing my Religion is too sad) that I like. But its really super awesome.
I think roadtrips should totally have a theme band or genre or just even a basic playlist. Its like driving in empty suburban roads to Smashing Pumpkin's "1979", or its cruising down the 5 Freeway overlookign the Santa Monica and Verdugo mountains to Foo Fighter's "Everlong", theres always the surreal-unreal mood, sort of a dramatic detachment from the event that makes it 500x more... interesting. Oh and there's driving along the beach with Green Day's "King for a day".
The point is to make the ordinary extraordinary and associate the songs you like to an event in your life that is special.
This is going to be a travel log for the Yosemite-San Francisco thanksgiving trip.
Its going to be really simple and hopefully a lot more pictures than words (funny I've probally said that 15 dozen times).
I really like the simplicity of posterous and its no frills black and white style.
First hurdle, I think the car needs to get new tires, not sure it'll last a thousand mile road trip in 4 days.
Until then.
